PUBLIC CONSULTATION- PUBLIC SPACES PROTECTION ORDER- THE ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR, CRIME & POLICING ACT 2014

Dover District Council is proposing to introduce a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in accordance with the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 which if approved would continue to cover the following behaviors:

  • Failing to remove dog faeces;
  • Not keeping a dog on a lead in a designated dogs on lead area.
  • Not putting, and keeping, a dog on a lead when directed to do so by an authorised officer.
  • Permitting a dog to enter land from which dogs are excluded.
  • Street drinking
  • Unauthorised camping

Under the section 72(4) of the Anti-Social Behavior, Crime & Policing Act 2014 the Local Authority is required to consult with the landowners and interested parties before making a PSPO.

Our public consultation on proposals opens today and runs until the 13th of May 2025.
